My brother, Damien and I have just spent 7 fantastic nights in the lively city of Kuala Lumpur. Also known as KL, by the locals.
We travelled 8.5 hrs from Australia to KL, in order to attend a Mega Event, called UYMG (Unlesh Your Marketing Genius) hosted by the world’s number 1, Internet Marketer ” Mr Stephen Pierce”. Not only did Stephen provide endless valuable content, but he also invited many of his friend, such as Mike Filsaime, Chris Guerriero and Dave Lakhani to name a few. Follow the link below, to access free, Malaysia’s Jason Tan’s Blog Guide. It is an opportunity for all of us to monetize, whilst blogging about our favourite interests.

Never Give Up!!!

July 15th, 2007

Who said starting a business was going to be easy? For those of you who are about to give up,let me share with you the story of 2 people who never gave up and came out on top! The first one is about a lady by the name of Mrs.Debbie Field’s,she is the CEO of Mrs Fields’ Original Cookies,Inc.When she was only 13 years old she would bake chocolate chip cookies for her family and friends.Years later she baked some cookies for her husband’s business associates,as word of mouth spread (or should we say word of cookie)she got the idea of starting a business, when she shared this idea with her friends, she was told it would not work. The following is a sample of reasons given;”The price of sugar is too high” “This is not the season” “Nobody eats soft cookies” “Too many companies doing it already” “It would cost too much to start a new company” “Nobody will loan you the money.” Her husband went along with her idea and together they went and got a bank loan. The rest,as they say is history.

The next business success story is about a man by the name of Mr.Fred Smith. He is the CEO of Federal Express. It all started with a term paper he wrote for an economics class while he was a student at Yale University.Mr.Smith felt that the most efficient way to move air freight was to have a central hub(which was later to be Memphis)where all package’s would be sent and then have them put on a private fleet of aircraft that would fly the package’s to their final destination. He got a grade of “C” on his term paper,he was told his business idea would not work because people were already using the United States Post Office or they used U.P.S (United Parcel Service) to get package’s to their destination.Mr.Smith did some testing of his idea with a marketing friend,he ask his buddy to do some research. He wanted him to find out if compaines would use a service that could guarantee a package overnight.About two week’s later the answer came back;not only would companies use this type of service but would be willing to pay a premium for it! Based on this Information Mr.Smith was able to get a loan for 91 million(he also had 4 million from an Inheritance)to start the company.Federal Express is now a Fortune 500 company! So don’t give up!

A very good friend of mine, has found Success and Profitability, in doing what she loves “Sewing”.
Her name is Kaz, and she has been designing and selling her beautiful handbags for well over a year now. These unique, one off designs are created on her kitchen table and shipped all over the world. She uses antique kimono fabrics, sourced from Japan. Kaz’s handbags are always in high demand, as every women loves handbags, and will never have enough of them!
When marketing her product, she has found a few valuable tips (that I would like to share with you all) to increase sales!

#1 - Use the colour Red or Pink (these colours are most popular)
#2 - Use shiny fabrics
#3 - Use flower pattern fabrics

Her craft business started with just 1 idea, PLUS taking action on that idea.

That is all you need!!!!!
