Materials:

Worsted weight yarn: I used Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in Pink, White, and Kelly Green
-Size H 5mm crochet hook
-Tapestry needle

*Base of the strawberry is the large heart from this pattern in Pink*

Strawberry Leaves:
Begin with a slip knot in Kelly Green, Ch 7
1st Leaf: Dc in 4th st from hook, Dc in next st, Hdc in next st, sl st in last st, don’t turn
2nd Leaf: Ch 8, Dc in 4th Ch from hook, Dc in next 2 sts, Hdc in next st, sl st in last st, don’t turn
3rd Leaf: Ch 7, Dc in 4th Ch from hook, Dc in next st, Hdc in next st, sl st in last st, sl st in top of 2nd leaf
Stem: Ch 5, sl st in 1st st from hook and in next 4 sts, sl st in top of 1st leaf, finish off leaving a long tail for sewing

Sew around edges of 3 leaves onto top of the heart – I didn’t sew down the stem

Snip a 2ft long piece of white yarn. Using your tapestry needle, sew some french knots on the bottom part of the strawberry (you could also use buttons or beads here!).

Granny Square:
*Stitch into the perimeter of the bottom heart portion of the strawberry, not into the leaves or stem*
Round 1: With new color, sl st into top right corner of strawberry, all in the same st: CH 2, 2 DC, CH 3, 3 DC, CH 1, skip 3 sts, 3 DC in next st, CH 1, *3 DC, CH 3, 3 DC, CH 1, skip 3 sts, 3 DC in next st, CH 1*, repeat from * twice more forming a square, sl st to beginning CH 2
Rounds 2-3: Continue in this same manner – in corners 3 DC, CH 3, 3 DC, CH 1 and in all other CH spaces 3 DC, CH 1, finish off, weave ends
