To Change Colors

Work last stitch before color change to last step, with new color, yo and pull new color through remaining lps on hook. Drop unused color to wrong side. Do not work over unused color.

JOINING WITH SC

When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

DISHCLOTH

Row 1: (Right Side) With Purple, ch 29, dc in 6th ch from hook (skipped ch count as ch 1, dc, ch 1), ch 1, [skip next ch, dc in next ch, ch 1] across to last 3 ch, skip next ch, dc in last 2 ch. (14 dc and 12 ch-1 sps)

Rows 2-12: Ch 4 (counts as first dc and ch 1 now and throughout), turn, dc in first ch-1 sp, [ch 1, dc in next ch-1 sp] across, ending with dc in last dc. (14 dc and 12 ch-1 sps)

At the end of Row 12, DO NOT FINISH OFF.

Edging

Rnd 1: Ch 1, turn, (right side facing), 3 sc in first dc, sc in next dc, [sc in next ch-1 sp, sc in next dc] across to last dc, 3 sc in last dc, * working in sides of rows, evenly sc across *; working in unused lps of starting ch, 3 sc in first ch, [sc in next ch] across to last ch, 3 sc in last ch; rep from * to *; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.

Stripes

Stripe 1: With right side facing, join Variegated with sc in 7th sc from joining, ch 1, sc over post of 3rd dc on Row 12, [ch 1, sc in 3rd dc on next row] across, ending with ch 1, sc in corresponding sc on Edging. Finish off and weave in ends.
