Summer Fish Craft Step by Step Directions

Begin with an empty and clean paper egg carton.

Carefully cut out the individual cups. An adult may be needed for this part.

Then, paint the cups in the paint color of your choice. Let the paint dry completely.

While the paint is drying, grab a pipe cleaner in the color of your choice. Mix and match with the paint color or go completely wild, it’s up to you. Bend the pipe cleaner into an MM type shape, so basically two Ms formed together, to form a tail fin.

Twist the ends of the pipe cleaner together to secure.

Next, when the paint on the egg carton cup is dry, punch a hole at the back of the cup.

Bend the twisted ends of the pipe cleaner over, so it’s more substantial and won’t move as much in the hole, then insert in the pipe cleaner tail fin in the hole.

Add googly eyes to the front of the fish. Self-adhesive googly eyes work great here.

Now, use a white paint pen to draw a small circle mouth.

Finally, draw some wavy scale lines on the sides of the fish, too.
