Worsted weight yarn in flesh(A), red (B), white(C)and black (D).
Crochet hook size F (3.75mm)
Two black 4mm beads for eyes
Two small buttons, or beads for trim on front
small amount polyester stuffing
To start head and body:
With A: ch2, 6sc in 2nd ch from hook. Join.
Rnd 2: Ch1, 2sc in each st around.
Rnd 3: Ch1, sc in same st. (2sc in next st, sc in 2) around. End with sc in last st. (16)
Rnd 4-6: Ch1, sc around.
Rnd 7: Ch1, (dec, sc in next) around. (10). Stuff head firmly.
Rnd 8: Ch1, sc around, FO colA.
Rnd 9: Join B with sl st at back. Working in blps only, Ch1, 2sc in each st around. (20)
Rnd 10-15: In both loops, Ch1, sc around.
Rnd 16: IN BLPS: Ch1, sc around.
Rnd 17: In both loops, ch1, sc around.
Rnd 19: Ch1, (dec, sc in next) around. Dec. (13) Stuff firmly.
Rnd 20: Dec around, sc in last. (7) Leave long end, FO. Weave tail through sts of rnd 20, pull tightly to close and fasten securely.
Arms: (Make 2)
Leave about 6" tail to start:
With B: Ch13, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (12)
Rows 2-5: Sc across. Leaving about 12" end, FO.
Join A in row end. Ch1, sc 5 sc evenly across. Ch1, turn.
Rows 2-3: Ch1, sc across. FO, leaving about 4" tail.
Fold arm in ˝ lengthwise. Using matching colour tails, st along length. With 4" tail of flesh, weave in and out of sts of hand, pull to close, secure.
St arms in place at sides at app rnd 10.
Hair:
With C, ch2, 5sc in 2nd ch from hook.
Rnd 2: Sc in 1 st, 2 sc in next. Sc in 2 sts, 2sc in next. (7)
Rnd 3: Sc around.
Rnd 4: (dec, sc) twice. Sc in last st. (5)
Rnd 5: 2sc in each st around. (10)
Rnd 6: (Sc in 1 st, 2 sc in next) around. (15)
Rnd 7: Sc in 1 st, 2 sc in next. Sc in 11. 2sc in next, sc in last st. (17)
Rnd 8: Ch2. Hdc in 5 sts, sc in next 5, hdc in last 6. Join, FO, leaving long end for sewing.
Place on head, centering scs at front and tilting slightly to back. Using long end, sew in place.
Legs:
With Col A, Ch21. Repeat rows 1-5 of arms.
Row 6: Ch1, sc across, FO, leaving long end for sewing.
Join Black (D) in row end. Ch1, 8sc evenly across. Turn.
Work 3 more rows of sc. FO, leaving 6" tail.
With matching colours, fold leg in half lengthwise and sew along length. Weave black tail in and out of sts at bottom of ‘boot’, pull tightly and secure. If desired, stuff legs lightly before attaching to body at bottom.
Skirt:
With head toward you, join red in unworked loop at waist. Ch3, dc in same st. 2dc in each st around. (42)
Rnd 2&3: Ch3, dc in 1 st. (2dc in next st, dc in 2) around.
Rnd 4-8: Ch3, dc around.
Rnd 9: Work in blps this round only. Ch3, dc around.
Rnd 10: In both loops, ch3, dc around, FO. (73)
Neck trim:
With head toward you, join white in unworked loop at back of neck with sc. (Ch1, sc in next st) around. Ch1, join, FO.
Skirt trim: Work in unworked loops of rnd 8 of skirt, repeat neck trim.
Skirt bottom trim: Join white at back. Ch2, hdc in same st. 2hdc in each st around. Join, FO.
Finishing:
Sew two black beads to face for eyes.
Sew two small buttons/beads to front of dress.
