Country Granny Dishcloth Pattern
Hook: H (5 mm) US sized crochet hook
Size: 8.5 inch square with one row of edging or 9 inch square dishcloth if two rows of edging trim added.
Materials: 2 ounces cotton yarn (small amount of contrasting color used on last 2 edging rows.
With H hook, Ch 4 and join to form ring. Or you can use a magic circle to start.
Row 1 (flower petal row)
Ch 2, (counts as 1 Hdc) in ring work, Hdc, Dc, 2 Hdc
*Ch 1, 2 Hdc, Dc, 2 Hdc,* Repeat between * two more times,
Sl St to top of Ch 2. (4 corners & 4 petals made inside ring)
Tighten up the beginning ring if using a magic circle.
Row 2
With next color attach in any Ch 1 corner space.
Ch 2, 2 Hdc, Ch 1, 3 Hdc, all in the same ch 1 corner space.
*Sk next 3 Hdc, 3 Hdc, Ch 1, 3 Hdc, all in the next Ch 1 corner space.*
Repeat between * 2 more times, Sl St to top of the beginning Ch 2.
Row 3
Sl St across remaining Hdc’s to corner.
Ch 2 (counts as 1 Hdc) 2 Hdc, Ch 1, 3 Hdc, all in the corner space.
*Sk 3 Hdc, make 3 Hdc in between shells, Sk next shell, make 3 Hdc, Ch 1,
3 Hdc in corner.* Repeat 2 more times then Sl St to top of first Hdc.
Row 4-10
Continue in the established pattern until 10 rows completed. Change colors as desired on any rows.

Edging:
Work one or two rounds of Sc evenly with 2 Sc in each corner. Use contrasting cotton yarn if desired. FO.
