Crochet Supplies:

  • Red Heart Super Saver worsted weight yarn

    • 11 oz Dark Sage
    • 24 oz Country Rose
    • 43 oz Aran Fleck
  • Size H Crochet Hook
  • Yarn Needle

Finished size: Approximately 64" x 53"

Each square is approximately 9 1/2" square

Using rose color:

Round 1: Ch 5. Join with a slst to form a ring.

Round 2: Ch 3, *dc into ring, ch 1; repeat from * 6 times. Join with a sl st to beg ch 3.

Round 3: Working in the 1st sp, make a petal (1sc, 4dc, 1sc); make a petal into each of the next 7 spaces. Slst into beg sc.

Round 4: * ch 3, slst between next two petals. Repeat from * around.

Round 5: Working in the 1st ch 3 sp, make a petal (1sc, 6dc, 1sc); Make a petal into each of the next seven ch 3 spaces. Slst into beg sc.

Round 6: Ch 4, slst between 1st and 2nd petals of previous round. *ch 4, slst between next two petals. Repeat from * around.

Round 7: Working in the 1st ch 4 sp, make a petal (1sc, 8 dc, 1 sc); Make a petal into each of the next seven ch4 spaces. Slst into beg sc.

Round 8: Change to green yarn. *ch5, make a set of 3 leaves into the space between the next two flower petals.

To make a leaf:

  1. Tc into the sp between the next two flower petals but leave the last two loops on the hook.
  2. Wrap yarn around hook, insert into same space, wrap yarn around hook and draw loop through, wrap yarn around hook take 2 loops off (twice).
  3. Wrap yarn around hook, insert into same space, wrap yarn around hook and draw loop through, wrap yarn around hook take 2 loops off (3 times).

Ch 1; repeat steps 1 - 3 once more working to the same space as the 1st leaf then ch 1.

Repeat steps 1 through 3 working in the same space again.

Ch 5; join with slst to sp between next two flower petals.

Repeat from * 3 more times.

Border - change to border color.

Round 1 (of border):

  • ch 2, 5dc in the ch 5 sp
  • *3 dc in sp between 1st & second leaf; ch 1
  • 3 dc in sp between 2nd and 3rd leaf
  • 5 dc in each of the next two ch 5 spaces
  • Repeat from * twice.
  • 3 dc in sp between 1st and 2nd leaf; ch 1
  • 3 dc in sp between 2nd and 3rd leaf
  • 5dc in next ch 5 sp
  • Join with slst to 2nd ch

Round 2: ch 2; 5 dc in sp directly below the crochet hook.

  • 5 dc in each of the spaces between the 5 dc clusters in the previous round.
  • In each corner, work 3 dc, 1 ch, 3 dc into the ch 1 space of the previous round
  • When you have made it back to where you started the round, join with a sl st to the 2nd ch at the beg of this round.

Rounds 3 & 4: Repeat round 2

Fasten off and weave all lose ends bock into your square.

Make a total of 42 squares.

Join the squares by making 6 rows of 7 squares each.
