Knitting instructions:

Cardigan sizes: 36/38 (40/42) 44/46

You will need: 700 (800) 850 g of orange yarn Organico (100% organic cotton, 90 m/50 g); crochet hook № 5.5.

Main pattern: The number of stitches to cast on is a multiple of 6 + 1 + 3 chain stitches for the turning chain. Work according to Chart 1. Each row starts with 3 or 1 chain stitch as the turning chain instead of the first double crochet or single crochet and start from the stitches before the repeat, repeat the pattern, and end with the stitches after the repeat. Work once from the 1st to the 3rd row, then repeat the 2nd and 3rd rows. Work the single crochet of the 3rd row into the chain space of the previous row. In the instructions, the starting and ending stitches are calculated per 1 repeat.

Arch pattern: The number of stitches to cast on is a multiple of 7 + 3. Work according to Chart 2. Each row starts with 1, 3, or 4 chain stitches as the turning chain instead of the first single crochet, double crochet, or double crochet with 2 yarns over and start from the stitches before the repeat, repeat the pattern, and end with the stitches after the repeat. Work once from the 1st to the 9th row, then repeat from the 4th to the 9th row. From the 3rd row, work the stitches into the chain space of the previous row. In the instructions, the starting and ending stitches are calculated per 1/2 repeat.

Crochet gauge. Main pattern: 16 sts and 10 rows = 10 x 10 cm; arch pattern: 13.75 initial sts and 9 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Attention! Crochet the lower parts of the cardigan with the arch pattern from the top down to the upper parts. Crochet the sleeves from the top down. The arrows on the pattern indicate the direction of work.

Back: For the upper part, chain 73 (79) 85 chain stitches + 3 chain stitches for the turning chain and work in the main pattern = 12 (13) 14 repeats + 1 end stitch for symmetry. After 13 cm = 13 rows from the cast-on edge, leave 6 stitches on both sides for the armholes = 61 (67) 73 stitches or 10 (11) 12 repeats + 1 end stitch for symmetry. After 28 cm = 28 rows (30 cm = 30 rows) 32 cm = 32 rows from the cast-on edge, leave for the neckline the middle 23 stitches or 4 repeats minus 1 stitch for symmetry and work both sides separately. Finish after 30 cm = 30 rows (32 cm = 32 rows) 34 cm = 34 rows from the cast-on edge on the remaining 19 (22) 25 shoulder stitches or respectively 3 (3 1/2) 4 repeats + 1 stitch. Edge the lower edge with the arch pattern, performing 73 (80) 87 single crochets in the 1st row = 9 (10) 11 repeats + 1/2 repeat on both sides. Initially, the arch pattern is adjusted to the width of the upper part, which is indicated by the slope on the pattern. Finish the work after 36.5 cm = 33 rows of the arch pattern.

Left front: For the upper part, chain 55 (61) 67 chain stitches + 3 chain stitches for the turning chain and work in the main pattern = 9 (10) 11 repeats + 1 end stitch for symmetry. After 2 cm = 2 rows from the cast-on edge, evenly decrease for the neckline slant on the left side * over the next 3 rows 1 repeat, then work 1 row without decreases, repeat from * 4 (4) 5 more times, for size 40/42 decrease in the next row an additional 1/2 repeat. Perform the armhole on the right side as on the back. Finish at the back height on the remaining 19 (22) 25 shoulder stitches. Edge the lower edge with the arch pattern, performing 52 (59) 66 single crochets in the 1st row = 6 (7) 8 repeats + 1/2 repeat on both sides. Finish the work after 36.5 cm = 33 rows of the arch pattern.

Right front: Work symmetrically to the left front.

Sleeves: Chain 52 (59) 66 chain stitches + 1 chain stitch for the turning chain and work with the arch pattern from the 2nd row of the chart = 6 (7) 8 repeats + 1/2 repeat on both sides. Finish the work after 22 cm = 20 rows from the cast-on edge.

Assembly: Perform shoulder seams. Edge the fronts and neckline with 1 row of single crochet. Set in the sleeves, adjusting the top edge of the sleeves to the height of the armholes. Perform the side seams and the sleeve seams.
