■ 2 x 10cm closed-end zips

TENSION

14.5 sts and 15 rows in double crochet (working into the front loop only) to measure 10x10cm (4x4in) using a 4.5mm hook.

Ch sts at the beginning of the rows do not count as sts, unless otherwise stated.

Work into the front loop of each dc only throughout pattern, unless otherwise stated.

The jacket is worked in five pieces, and then sewn or crocheted together.

The collar is added onto the jacket before sewing on the sleeves.

The three zips are sewn on by machine or by hand when the garment is complete.

Sew or crochet the shoulder seams together.

With RS facing, attach the yarn to the Right Front at the stitch marker on the Lapel.

EDGING

TO FINISH

Gently steam or block work to the correct measurements for the size you are making.

Slip stitch around the zip opening at each cuff, pin the zips in place and them sew them in place using a needle and matching thread.

Pin the Sleeves to body and then sew them onto the jacket.

Pin the main zip neatly into position, using the image as a guide, and then sew it neatly and securely onto the jacket.

Weave in all ends.
