Crochet Ice Cream Cone Granny Square

Materials:

–Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice yarn (toffee, white, pink, a small amount of cranberry)
-Size H 5mm crochet hook
-Tapestry needle
THE CONE:
With toffee, CH 9
Row 1: HDC in 2nd CH from hook, HDC in every stitch across, CH 1, turn
Row 2: HDC decrease the 1st two sts, HDC in next four sts, HDC decrease the last two sts, CH 1, turn
Row 3: HDC in each st across, CH 1, turn
Row 4: HDC decrease the 1st two sts, HDC in next two sts, HDC decrease the last two sts, CH 1, turn
Row 5: HDC in each st across, CH 1, turn
Row 6: HDC decrease the 1st two sts, HDC decrease the last two sts, CH 1, turn
Row 7: HDC in each st across, CH 1, turn
Row 8: HDC decrease the two remaining sts together, CH 1, sl st into the same CH space from last CH 1, finish off, weave ends

ICE CREAM:
With pink, begin with a magic ring, CH 2 and make 8 DC in ring, sl st to join, CH 2
Round 2: 2 DC in each of next 5 sts, do not join, CH 2, turn (making a semi-circle)
Round 3: 2 DC in each st around
Edging (Working on flat bottom of the semi-circle): CH 4, SC in next st, *skip one st, 5 DC in next st, skip one st, SC in next st*, repeat from * twice more (should have three large scallops), CH 4, SC in next st, finish off leaving a long tail for sewing
Sew ice cream to cone.
GRANNY SQUARE:
Round 1: With new color, sl st into top right corner of ice cream dome, all in the same st: CH 2, 2 DC, CH 3, 3 DC, CH 1, skip 3 sts, 3 DC in next st, CH 1, *3 DC, CH 3, 3 DC, CH 1, skip 3 sts, 3 DC in next st, CH 1*, repeat from * twice more forming a square, sl st to beginning CH 2

*****When stitching across the bottom of the cone, st into 3rd row from bottom of the cone only on the back loops, not around the edges of the cone.

Rounds 2-3: Continue in this same manner – in corners 3 DC, CH 3, 3 DC, CH 1 and in all other CH spaces 3 DC, CH 1

CHERRY:

With cranberry begin with a magic ring, CH 1, 8 SC, sl st to join, CH 6 (for stem), finish off leaving long tail to sew onto ice cream

SPRINKLES:

French knots using yarn and tapestry needle. You could also hot glue or sew on buttons or beads!
