VALENTINE TREAT BAG CROCHET PATTERN

Materials
  • Worsted weight yarn
  • H/5.00mm hook
  • Tapestry needle and scissors

Notes

Pattern is written for bag with three sections of color, ignore color changes if you want yours to be one solid color.

Color 1 will be the very bottom of the bag, Color 2 will be the middle, Color 3 will be the top.

Abbreviations (US terms)

Ch = chain, sc = single crochet, hdc = half double crochet, dc = double crochet, tr = treble crochet, sl st = slip stitch

Pattern

Bag

Start with Color 1.

Round 1: Magic ring, ch 1, 10 hdc in ring, join to first hdc (10)

Round 2: Ch 1, 2hdc in each st around, join to first hdc (20)

Round 3: Ch 1, *2hdc, hdc in next st, repeat from * around, join to first hdc (30)

Round 4-7: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, join to first hdc (30)

Change to Color 2.

Round 8-12: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, join to first hdc (30)

Change to Color 3.

Round 13-17: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, join to first hdc (30)

Fasten off and weave in ends.

Drawstring

Chain 55 or until it’s about 16″ long.

Weave chain string in and out of top stitches so the tails are on the back of the bag.

Big Heart

Use white yarn.

Round 1: Magic ring, ch 3, tr, dc, hdc, 5sc, hdc, dc, tr, ch 3, sl st, fasten off

Small heart

Use white yarn.

Round 1: Magic ring, ch 2, dc, hdc, 3sc, hdc, 3sc, hdc, dc, ch 2, sl st, fasten off

Sew or hot glue hearts onto bag.
