DIY Fairy Garden Spring Wreath with Mushrooms
Create your very own whimsical fairy garden spring wreath featuring adorable mushrooms with this easy do-it-yourself project. Start by gathering materials such as a grapevine wreath, artificial moss, miniature mushrooms, and tiny fairy figurines. Use a hot glue gun to attach the moss to the wreath, creating a lush green base for your fairy garden. Then, strategically place the miniature mushrooms and fairy figurines around the wreath, securing them in place with more hot glue. Hang your finished creation on your front door to welcome guests with a charming and enchanting display. DIY Fairy Garden Spring Wreath
Supplies needed:
– foam wreath form (I used a 12 inch form)
– chenille yarn, white
– green crafting pom poms
– cotton spun mushrooms
– hot glue, glue gun
– scissors
You can find these materials at most craft stores or even in the crafting section at most big box stores.
Directions:
1. Start by wrapping the chenille yarn around the wreath form. Pull tightly as you go leaving no space between the wrappings. Secure the start of the yarn with glue to the inside of the wreath form, start wrapping, and wrap until slightly more than half, or about 3/4ths of the form is covered. Cut the yarn, add a dab of glue, and press the end of the segment to the inside of the wreath to secure.
2. Add your pom poms! Add a general dab of hot glue to the back of the pom poms and press them to the exposed area of the wreath form. Hold in place firmly until secure. Keep adding pom poms until the exposed area is covered. For ours, we used two different sizes. We applied them in rows so a half moon shape was formed.
3. Add your mushrooms. These cotton spun mushrooms are typically on picks, so just add some glue to the bottom of the mushroom and press the pick all the way down into the pom poms. Hold in place until secure. Continue adding mushrooms in any color combination and pattern that you wish.
Now things are really looking cute. For our wreath, we hung it up on a hook as is. You can do the same, or you can opt to add some ribbon. I left mine plain, because I didn’t want the mushrooms to be outdone by a bright ribbon. You do what works for you and your space!
How cute is the end result? I am telling you, I might just leave this up all year. Why not?
