How to Make a Flip Flop Wreath

Create a fun and playful summer-inspired decor with the Flip Flop Wreath! This charming wreath is made by attaching colorful flip flops to a wire or foam base, creating a whimsical and eye-catching piece that's perfect for outdoor or indoor spaces. Add some decorative accents like seashells, starfish, or tropical flowers to give it a beachy vibe, and hang it on your front door, wall, or even use it as a centerpiece for your summer gatherings.

Materials

  • 1 wreath form
  • 13 strips 21" deco mesh
  • 2 2.5" wired ribbon
  • 3 1.5 wired ribbon
  • 1 sign/attachment
  • pipe cleaners
  • scissors
  • EZ Bow Maker
  • mesh cutter

Instructions

  • Fluff out wreath form
  • Layer your mesh, measure out 12" and cut your strips. You'll need 13 strips.
  • Get a nice big roll, measure 5", tie to wreath form, make a poof and continue around the bottom of the frame. Make sure your curls are big. This is the curl and loop method.
  • Continue the same process with 2 layers all the way around the top of the frame.
  • Take attachment, add pipe cleaner between two flip flops and 2 at the top. Run pipe cleaner through the mesh and wrap around the metal frame.
  • Now we can add our bows. Get your ribbons and EZ Bow Maker.
  • Using the 2.5" ribbon create an 8" tail on the bottom right. Make a 7" loop on bottom left, loop on top right, and end with 8" tail on top left.
  • Using the 1.5" ribbon create an 7" tail on top right. Make a 6" loop on top left, loop on bottom right, and end with 7" tail on bottom left.
  • Using the 2.5" ribbon create an 8" tail on the bottom right. Make a 5.5" loop on bottom left, loop on top right, and end with 8" tail on top left.
  • Using the 1.5" ribbon create an 7" tail on each side.
  • Using the 1.5" ribbon create an 7" tail on the bottom right. Make a 4.5" loop on bottom left, loop on top right, and end with 7" tail on top left.
  • Using the 1.5" ribbon create an 7" tail on the bottom right. Make a 4" single loop, cut the tail
  • Take your pipe cleaner around the center of the bow, tie nice and tight, and arrange bow.
  • Repeat process and make 2 more bows.
  • Attach 1st bow on the bottom of the wreath wrapping the pipe cleaner around the metal frame, and fluff out bow.
  • Attach 2nd bow on the top of the wreath wrapping the pipe cleaner around the metal frame, and fluff out bow.
  • Attach 3rd bow on the left side of the wreath wrapping the pipe cleaner around the metal frame, and fluff out bow.
  • Take scissors and trim all the tails in to dovetails.
  • Take the 2.5" ribbon, measure out 7" tail, attach to wreath tie, make a loop, attach to wreath tie, and cut a 7" tail. Continue process and fill in all along the outside of the wreath.
  • Take the 1.5" ribbon, measure out 7" tail, attach to wreath tie, and cut a 7" tail. Alternate with 2.5" ribbon. Continue process and fill in all along the outside of the wreath.
  • Take your last 1.5" ribbon, make 7" tails, and fill in all the open spots.
  • Take (1) 2.5" ribbon and (2) 1.5" ribbon, and make tails. Take the 3 ribbons together, fold in half, scrunch in middle, and start placing them in the wreath with ends sticking outwards using a pipe cleaner and attaching to wreath form. Repeat and fill open spots. Fluff out tails.
