Crochet Garfield Pillow

Materials Needed:

• Orange, black, white, yellow, and pink yarn (worsted weight)
• 4.0 mm (G) crochet hook
• Fiberfill stuffing
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations:

• ch: chain
• sl st: slip stitch
• sc: single crochet
• hdc: half double crochet
• dc: double crochet
• dec: decrease
• inc: increase

Base Pillow:

1. Front and Back Panels (Make 2):
   • Using orange yarn, ch 41.
   • Row 1: sc in second ch from hook and each ch across (40 sc).
   • Rows 2-50: ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across.
   • Fasten off and weave in ends.
2. Joining Panels:
   • Place front and back panels together, matching edges.
   • Using orange yarn, sc around three sides, leaving the top open. Stuff with fiberfill, then sc the top closed.

Facial Features:

1. Eyes (Make 2):
   • Using white yarn, make a magic ring.
   • Round 1: 6 sc in ring.
   • Round 2: inc in each sc around (12 sc).
   • Round 3: (sc, inc) around (18 sc).
   • Round 4: (2 sc, inc) around (24 sc).
   • Fasten off and weave in ends.
2. Pupils (Make 2):
   • Using black yarn, make a magic ring.
   • Round 1: 6 sc in ring.
   • Fasten off and weave in ends.
3. Nose:
   • Using pink yarn, ch 4.
   • Round 1: sc in second ch from hook, sc in next, 3 sc in last ch.
   • Working on opposite side, sc in next ch, 2 sc in last ch (8 sc).
   • Fasten off and weave in ends.
4. Mouth and Cheeks:
   • Using yellow yarn, ch 21.
   • Row 1: sc in second ch from hook and each ch across (20 sc).
   • Rows 2-6: ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across.
   • Fasten off and weave in ends.
   • Sew mouth and cheeks to front panel, shaping them as desired.
5. Ears (Make 2):
   • Using orange yarn, ch 10.
   • Row 1: sc in second ch from hook and each ch across (9 sc).
   • Rows 2-7: ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc across to last 2 sts, sc2tog.
   • Fasten off and weave in ends.
   • Attach black yarn, sc around the edge of the ear.
   • Sew ears to the top of the pillow.

Stripes:

1. Stripes (Make as needed):
   • Using black yarn, ch 16.
   • Row 1: sc in second ch from hook and each ch across (15 sc).
   • Fasten off and weave in ends.
   • Sew stripes onto the sides of the pillow.

Assembly:

1. Sew the eyes, nose, and mouth to the front panel, positioning them correctly.
2. Attach the pupils to the eyes.
3. Sew the ears to the top of the pillow.
4. Add stripes to the sides of the pillow.
