*NOTES* when you see “ST” this means the spaces as well. So when you see SC in next 5 sts, it will mean SC in the ch spaces as well as dcs.


Rnd 1: Ch4, work 15DC in 1st st. Join (16dc)


Rnd 2: Ch3, (2DC) in same st. [+Ch1, Skip 1st, DC in next dc, Ch1, skip 1st,+ (3DC) in next dc] 3Xs Repeat +to+ once and Join. (16dc)


Rnd 3: Ch3 (2DC) in same st. DC in next dc, (3DC) in next dc. [+Ch1, DC in next dc, Ch1,+ SK sp (3DC) in next dc, DC in next dc, (3DC) in next dc]3Xs Repeat +to+ once and join in top of beg ch3. (32dc)


*NOTE* Don’t ch in the beginning of this round. The joining slst from rnd 3 counts as the 1st slst.

Rnd 4: Skip 1st (4DC) in next dc, slst in next dc, (4DC) in next dc, skip 1st, slst in next dc. [+SC in 3sts+ Work a Heart Hump (see special stitches)]3Xs, Repeat +to+ once and join to 1st slst. (32dc, 12sc, 12slst)


Rnd 5: [+Ch4, Look behind the heart hump and the middle slst, See the 2 horizontal loops that look like they connect the humps? Well SC around those two loops. Ch4, skip 4dc, skip slst,+ SC in 3sc, skip slst]3Xs Repeat +to+ once. SC in 3sc, Do not join. (8ch4, 16sc)


Rnd 6: Slst into ch 4sp, ch3, 2DC in same sp. [+Ch1, (3DC) in next sc, Ch1, (3DC) in next sp. DC in 3sc.+ (3DC) in sp]3Xs. Repeat +to+ once and join in beg ch3. (48dc)


Rnd 7: Ch3, DC in 2dc [+Ch2, skip sp, (3DC) in next dc, DC in next dc, (3DC) in next dc. Ch2, skip sp+ DC in 9dc]3Xs Repeat +to+ once. DC in last 6dc. Join. (64dc)


Rnd 8: Ch1, SC in same st. SC in 2dc [+2SC in ch sp, work a heart hump. 2SC in next sp+ SC in 9dc]3Xs Repeat +to+ once. SC in last 6. Join to 1st sc. (52sc, 32dc)


Rnd 9: Ch1, SC in same st. SC in 4sc [+ Ch4, Skip slst, Look behind the heart hump and the middle slst, See the 2 horizontal loops that look like they connect the humps? Rnd 10:Ch3, DC in 4sc [+3DC in sp, ch1, 3DC in sc, Ch1, 3DC in sp+ DC in 13sc]3Xs Repeat +to+ once. DC in last 8sc. Join (88dc)


Rnd 11: Ch3, DC in 7dc [+Ch2, skip sp, (3DC) in next dc, DC in next dc, (3DC) in next dc. Ch2, skip sp+ DC in 19dc]3Xs Repeat +to+ once. DC in last 11 and join. (104dc)


Rnd 12: Ch1 SC in same st, SC in 7dc [+2SC in ch sp, work a heart hump. 2SC in ch sp,+ SC in 19dc]3Xs Repeat +to+ once. SC in last 11 and join. (96sc, 32dc)
