How to Make a Hair Bow

Hair bows are a fun and charming way to add a touch of playfulness to any hairstyle. Whether you opt for a classic satin bow or a more modern velvet design, these accessories can easily elevate your look with a whimsical flair. They are perfect for adding a pop of color or a hint of femininity to your outfit, making them versatile and easy to style for any occasion. Whether you're heading to a casual brunch or a fancy event, a well-placed hair bow can instantly make you feel more put-together and cute. So, why not embrace your inner girly-girl and have some fun experimenting with different hair bow styles to express your personality in a delightful way!

To begin you need a piece of fabric that is 5" x 8".

Fold it in half with right sides together and stitch around the edges, leaving and opening for turning.

Clip the edges.

Turn right sides out and press flat.

Hand stitch the opening closed.

Fold it accordion style in the middle to create the bow.

{You may notice the stitching along the bottom. The picture below is one of my trial bows. I didn't hand sew the opening closed, I topstitch it closed. I didn't like how it looked that way, but it shows you how to fold the bow.}

Wrap around a piece of 1/2" ribbon and secure with hot glue. {I actually sewed a piece of fabric, but I would recommend a piece of ribbon - so much easier!}

Then just hot glue your favorite hair clip to the back and you're ready to wear.
